My 1st annual Halloween Ghost Story Contest runner-up is Wayne Sharpe with his hauntingly creative Origin story, The Crying Heart. I didn't realize I was even a fan of this type of story until I read this one. It truly evokes the spirit of Halloween, so I had to share it with all of you.After many years of reading and continuously trying to figure out the plotline ahead of time, Wayne realized he had cultivated an extremely active imagination and needed a way to use it in a constructive way. Wanting to write a more traditional horror story that was plot-driven and not just gore, he came to the idea of writing a sequence of Origin stories, starting with this one.
